Cadres of ANNFSU, a sister organization of the CPN-Unified Socialist party, started a hunger strike at the Tribhuvan University Vice-Chancellor's Office on 11 July after vandalism in the Vice Chancellor's office. The organization has said that it will continue the hunger strike until the officials publicly apologize and the 13-point demands put forward by the organization are addressed. They accused the the vice-chancellor of mobilizing police to arrest their members.
In the memorandum submitted, the organization put forward various demands including reform in the semester system, holding elections, changing the curriculum, etc. The memorandum, handed over to the vice-chancellor, was thrown on the wall of the vice-chancellor's office.
