Tanka Bhandari, a 24 year old you from Chhathar rural municipality-5, of Terhathum murdered his father 53 year old Bhakta Bahadur Bhandari during a household dispute by attacking him with a domestic weapon. The cause for the dispute remains to be known. 

The father who was seriously injured died while undergoing treatment at Chhathar hospital. The district police office in Terhathum is making preparations to carry the deceased body to Dhankuta for postmortem. The son has absconded after the incident and remains to be traced.
