The employees of Engineering Division at Urban Development Ministry organized a symbolic protest in front of ministry in Singhadurbar on August 18. 

They condemned the decision of Nepal government to transfer Department of Local Infrastructure (DOLI) that was under Federal Affairs and General Administration Ministry as a  Settlement Development and Infrastructure Facilitation Department under the Urban Development Ministry.

The employees showed black banners and tied black ribbons on their arms to show the protest. They warned of stopping the work of Urban Department through out the country if the demands are not met. They also submitted a memorandum putting their demands to the Office of Prime Minister, Finance Ministry, Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, and Urban Development Ministry.
