Service seekers in Saptari vandalized the office of the chief administrative officer in Kanchanrup municipality on August 22 expressing their dissatisfaction over delay in the distribution of the social security allowance.

The agitated protestors vandalized the office and staged a sit-in in the office for two hours alleging that the Kanchanrup municipality did not distribute the social security allowance for the last quarter of the financial year 2078/079.

90-year-old Dashan Ram alleged that a month ago, the municipality had deposited the amount for the allowances of other wards in the bank account and the beneficiaries had received it, but the beneficiaries of ward number 11 had not received it.
