People, whose land was kept under acquisition by the government to construct railway leaks staged a sit-in protest at the railway department's office in Janakpurdham on August 28 demanding righteous compensation amount.
The victims who came from Baridibas of Mahottari district demanded that the compensation amount be paid as per the categorization and rates fixed by the district administration office. They also blamed the employees of railway department for fixing the rates on their own will by ignoring the categorization done by the district authority.
The railway track has been completed and in operation till Kurtha on the first phase. It is planned to extend the track from Kurtha to Bijulpura in Mahottari on the second phase and connect Bardibas on the third phase.
