A group of youths staged a demonstraion in Janakpur demanding to place a ban on the social media app Tiktok. The youths demonstrated with the banner of 'Tiktok Ban Struggle Committee' and submitted a memorandum to the office of Chief Minister of Madhesh province. 

The  struggle committee blamed the app for impacting negatively on economic, social, academic, cultural and other areas. They also mentioned that the application is being used to exploit women and girls physically. 

Earlier, the struggle committee had also submitted memorandum to Chief District Officer of Dhanusa a week back.
