A woman has been murdered by her step-son in Bara for demanding citizenship certificate with her husband. The deceased has been identified as 55-year-old Tetari Devi Yadav of Kalaiya sub-metropolitan city-7. Her Jayprakash Yadav and his mother Dhanmati Devi killed her on September 15 using a sharp weapon during a dispute over citizenship certificate. Tetari Devi who had been married to Shivnarayan Yadav for 40 years had been denied citizenship certificate but Shivnarayan had made citizenship certificate for his second wife Dhanmati Devi and her children. They were reluctant to issue citizenship certificate to Tetari Devi as she would be able to lay claim to property rights.
Lakshmi Raut, brother of the deceased Tetari Devi, filed a complaint in the name of Shivnarayan Yadav, Jayprakash Yadav, and Dhanmanti Devi Yadav at the District Police Office Bara. In the complaint, Raut accused her husband, his second wife and sons of carrying out planned murder of Tetari Devi with the intention of not giving her property. Police are searching for the accused who are on the run.
