Police charged batons on demonstrators who were staging protest in front of police office in Itahari on October 9 demanding punishment for Ram Bhujel of Itahari-5 accused with murdering his brother in law Bhune Chaudhary. Bhujel charged Khukuri on Chaudhary on October 8 in the dispute about domestic issues. The Khukuri attack cut off Chaudhary's hand  who died while undergoing treatment at BP Koirala Health Institute. Police charged sticks after the demonstrators started pelting stones at vehicles around the  police office. The demonstration also stopped the movement vehicles until 12 noon.
