Nepali Congress's municipal chairperson Rajan Karki and his supporters have been accused of physically assaulting Rajan Karki, a 30-year-old man of Dhankuta municipality-6 who was returning from home after attending his party's election victory rally in Dhankuta on November 27. The victim sustained an injury in his left eye. The victim further alleged that he had to run away to save his life. 

Shrestha, who was accused of assault, claimed that they were trying to frame him by making baseless accusations against him. He said that he had no involvement in the beating as he was not at that place at the time of the alleged incident. He alleged that they were trying to frame him in the false allegation.
