Taxi drivers staged a demonstration on November 29 in front of Tribhuvan International Airport against increased parking charges. The land of the airport has been leased by a company called IMS Airport Services. Owners of vehicles parking there have been complaining of having to pay expensive fees. The taxi drivers protested by sitting in front of the gate saying that earlier they were charging 20 rupees per hour for parking fee, but now it has been increased to 80 rupees and they have threatened to raise it to 100 rupees. The protest was led by the Nepal Transport Independent Workers' Organization affiliated to Elephant.
