Dispute in Bhimphedi school after school administration forcibly gives hair cuts to students as disciplinary action

The members of administration of Mahendra Secondary School of Bhimphedi rural municipality-6 in Makawanpur have been accused of mistreating 28 students studying in grade 8, 9, and 10 under the pretext of disciplinary action on January 2. According to the police, members of the school administration gave hair cuts to the students accusing them of violating discipline by fighting and making noise in the school. Police had reached the school after being reported that a 14-year-old student studying in grade 8 of the school had sustained injury after being beaten by 3 senior students.

National Human Rights Commission Bagmati Provincial Office Hetauda, ​​Siwin Child Helpline Makwanpur and INSEC district representative conducted an on-site monitoring on January 3 following the complaint of students and parents that the school and police administration behaved disrespectfully by cutting the hair of the students.
