A complaint was lodged against Daya Ram Gupta a 22-year-old youth of Bareli of India on January 23, on the charge of raping his 15-year-old sister-in-law in Belauri Kanchanpur. The victim's side alleged that the accused raped the victim on May 1, 2022, by tempting her and she was impregnated as a result of the rape. The Father of the victim added that the incident of the rape was only disclosed after the victim told them that she had a stomach ache and was not feeling well. By then, the victim was already eight months pregnant and gave birth to a baby girl on January 18. The victim's father further alleged that the accused tried to take the victim to India on May 2 but was rescued. Police stated that the accused remains on the run and they are looking for him.
