Pro-identity poets staged symbolic demonstrations in front of the provincial assembly building on March 16, by reciting poetry against the naming of Province 1. Police arrested Janak Rishi Rai and Sanjaya Yakkha for staging demonstrations. The demonstrators alleged that by naming province 1 as 'Koshi Province' the identity of the province and their movement went to waste.
