Locals padlocked the office of the Mahottari District Executive Committee of the National Land Commission on March 23. The demonstrators were protesting with five-point demands including land rights and Chure forest protection. They have submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister through the Chief District Officer of Mahottari, Deepak Kumar Pahadi, with five-point demands, including the right to housing, land, and forest protection, which are provided as fundamental rights by the Constitution.
