An 8-year-old minor girl has been raped in Nepalgunj of Banke on February 18. The incident became after the victim complained of pain while urinating to her mother. Although the victim's family initially ignored the incident due to lack of money to take the minor to hospital, they later found that she had been raped by a person who had come to their home as a guest.
The victim's family filed a complaint against the accused after the minor girl revealed to her parents that she was raped by the man. Although police took the accused into custody for two days, they later released him saying that they had not received a formal complaint. It was found that the accused's family had pressured the victim's family to settle the case outside the court. Later a social organization took the victim under it's care and filed a formal complaint.
