Attariya turns tense after locals try to block highway against death of a woman and baby during delivery at hospital

Relatives of Laxmi Bhattarai a 28-year-old woman of Godawari municipality-2 and her infant child who died during childbirth on April 9 in Malakheti Hospital staged a demonstration on April 11. The agitated demonstrators alleged that the two died due to the doctor's negligence. The demonstrators demanded compensation and legal action against the doctor and staff nurse. Police used force after the demonstrators attempted to block the Attaria Road section of the East-West Highway. The police fired tear gas and charged the demonstrators with a baton.
