Two dozen people were injured after the lopcals who were staging a sit-in against the eviction clashed with police on April 20. The locals and the entrepreneurs reached the municipal office at noon shouting slogans against the demolition of their residence by the municipality. The demonstrators demanded that arrangements should be made for them to live and do business immediately, proper compensation should be assessed for the damage caused by the demolition of the house, land that has been occupied for years should be given back, justice should be investigated and justice should be given to the incident of house and shop demolition, the affected local residents passed through the Gudri Bazaar of Mirchaiya.
After the demonstrator's demands were not addressed, the agitated demonstrators attempted to enter the office of the ward chairperson. And the clash broke out after the police tried to stop trespassing. Police fired 27 shots and 11 shots of tear gas to mitigate the tension.
