The health workers of Bhajani municipality of Kailali started unlimited protest and sit-in program from April 23 demanding payment of salary and allowances.
Their demands include having provision of fuel and other encouragement allowances for staffs working in health sector, pre-allocation of complete salary expenses for the year, and transfer of adjusted employees to their previous offices among others.
The Health Department coordinator of municipality, Kailash Chaudhary stated of submitting the protest note to municipality administration on March 18 as they were not paid salary since January. They mentioned of being forced to incept infinite protest as the municipality administration didn't show any gestures fulfilling their demands despite providing assurance.
There are 40 health workers in Bhajani. They combinedly resorted to protest stopping all services except emergency and delivery cases.
