A Dalit village at Bhangaha VDC-3 of Mahottari district has finally had access to electricity after10 years.
The village with 250 households got electricity after 10 years of the beginning of the electrification process, said a local media person Gopal Baral.
It was 11 years back the poles were erected and cables stretched, but the concerned VDC, DDC, and electricity authority continuously ignored the completion of the project till date.
Anyway, we've finally got the electricity, said a local Danbir Singh Tharu, exuding happiness.
There are Tharu, Danuwar, Bantar, Mushahar and Chamar people in the village.
A 50-kV transformer has been installed with the financial assistance of Rs 300,000 from the VDC for the electrification, informed Birbahadur Sing Tharu, Chairman of the consumers' committee.
