Cadres of the ruling parties – the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) -- clashed at local Sahid Chowk of Lahan Municipality-1 last night. The area remained tense the entire night, following the clash in which two were injured. Police have arrested the others two for their involvement in the scuffle. Injured Pramod Yadav of Lahan Municipality -1 and Sumesh Yadav of Sothiain VDC is being treated at Lahan Hospital. Pappu Yadav of Lahan Municipality-1 and Rupesh Yadav of Itaharwa-4 who reportedly threw stones at a gathering of UML cadres at the local Hotel Paradise and fueled the scuffle is already in the police control and further investigation into the incident is going on, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Gyanendra Phuyal. A large number of security personnel were deputed on the site throughout the night to avert any untoward incident.
