A women and her daughter are in critical condition after they were severely beaten by locals accusing them of performing witchcraft. Victims Madhudevi Sunari and her daughter Mamata are undergoing treatment at National Medical College, Birgunj. They had been referred from Narayani Sub-regional Hospital. According to Madhudevi's son Rabindra the victims' condition is getting worse. Rabindra reported that his mother and sister were severely beaten by a local Dhruv Kumar Shah along with his mother Ekwali Devi Shah, Prabhu Shah, Krishna Shah and Bharat Shah while there were no male members in the house.
