District Police Office arrested 32-year-od Dukku Bhandari of Chharpra VDC-2 and currently living in Simkot on January 5 on the charges of thrashing his 29-year-old wife Pankali Lama. Lama, in her complaint filed on January 4, said that her husband repeatedly beat her up for being from lower caste and also accusing her of having extra-marital affairs. She also filed for a divorce in the complaint. SI Kalam Bahadur Shahi said that as this complaint came from a woman, the police would investigate the claim.
