The Indigenous Nationalities National Movement Nepal today held a sit-in outside the Constituent Assembly (CA) building demanding identity-based federal provinces in the new constitution. Coordinator of the Newa Autonomous Manka Struggle Committee Malla K Sundar demanded identity-based federal provinces and said that federal provinces without identity would not be acceptable to them. He said that the protest was to institutionalise the achievements of various people's movements. Sundar said that the proportional representation of the indigenous nationalities, marginalised groups, oppressed groups and minorities should be ensured in every parts and body of state organs. On the occasion, different ethnic forums participated in the protest programmes.
