UCPN-M's bandh throws life out of gear in Western Region

 Life has been brought to a standstill due to the bandh called by UPCN-M demanding a new constitution with identity-based federalism in Magarant state on Sunday. Traffic moments in the district have come to a grinding halt owing to the bandh. Hundreds of passengers heading towards their destinations were stranded on the way. Market places in Chaurajahari, Athabisakot, and Solabang have been shut down. Gopal Sharma, Chairman of UPCN-M in Rukum, informed that life in three districts of Lumbini, four districts of Rapti, and two districts of Dhaulagiri has been largely affected due to the bandh. He said that five cadres were injured in a clash ensued between bandh enforces and police personnel. Sharma said that the clash broke out after security personnel intervened in their peaceful protest.
