Third episode of COCAP's pressure campaign organized in Kathmandu

 As the third episode of its campaign to pressurize the political parties to promulgate a New Constitution within Jan 22, COCAP(Collective Campaign for Peace) today organized a similar program in coordination with youth groups from Karnali. Around 200 people including members of the civil society, human rights activists, journalists, students, and youths from Karnali took part in the event. CA members Gagan Thapa(Nepali Congress), Ganeshman Pun(UCPN Maoist), Kamala Ghimire (CPN-UML), leaders of civil society Pradip Pokhrel, Anita Bindu, Sudarshan Subedi, Bhumika Shrestha, and Usha Baruwal were invited as guests in the program. Citing lack of time CA member Gagan Thapa and Ganeshman Pun did not attend the program. All the speakers at the program stressed the need to promulgate the new constitution within Jan 22. CA member Kamala Ghimire Subedi also clarified that CPN UML had not obstructed the process of giving citizenship in the mother's name as reported by some newspapers. CA members and Civil leaders also tried to fulfill the queries put forward by general people. Also in the program, youths from Karnali demanded CA members to ensure the rights of the people of Karnali in the new constitution.
