District Police Office Kanchanpur arrested Saraswati Kharel and Bhagwandas Kharel of Shantipur in Belauri Municipality-6 on January 16 on the charges of murdering their 22-year-old daughter-in-law Saraswati Bhusal. Bhusal was found dead at her home on January 13. Her maternal family’s FIR saying that the in-laws murdered her triggering the arrest. The body had marks on Saraswati’s throat. Her mother Dhansara Bhusal said that her daughter suffered violence at her home. Postmortem of the body was conducted at Mahakali Zonal Hospital on January 15.
