The District Court of Mahottari has ordered 42-year-old Sanjib Kumar Mishra and his wife 32-year-old Binita Mishra of Dhamaura VDC-7 to be remanded in custody on Jan 16 for murdering their own daughter. 40-year-old Mohammad Ahmed has also been remanded in custody for being their accomplice. Police had arrested the Mishras on December 31 on suspicion of murdering their daughter.
According to the information given by DSP Lokendra Shrestha, the couple had murdered their unmarried daughter Sonali for getting pregnant. After murdering her they had taken her dead body to India for funeral rites by hiding it in their jeep. The perpetrators claimed that Sonali had committed suicide.
