RPP-N rally disperses as police resort to baton charge

Police has used batons on the Rastriya Prajatantra Party -Nepal (RPP-N) rally which was on its way to picket the Constituent Assembly (CA) building in New Baneswor on Sunday. The police resorted to baton charge after the rally attempted to enter the area declared "out of bounds" around the CA building, resulting in its dispersal. The rally, led by party chairman Kamal Thapa, began from Babarmahal. RPP-N has demanded that Nepal be declared a Hindu state in the new constitution. Security around the CA building premises has been tightened since Saturday evening.
