Yam Bahadur Bhandari aka Kamal, 35, of Sanoshree VDC-5 has been remanded in prison after being charged with rape of a 27-year-old woman. The District Court Bardiya, on February 12, ordered for his remand. The woman filed a complaint at the police station on October 19 saying that Bhandari raped her on the night of October 18 when she had gone out of the home for the toilet. District Court registrar Khimananda Pandey said that Bhandari, who absconded later surrendered on February 12. The woman’s medical checkup was conducted at District Hospital, Gulariya.
