A case has been filed against a man and his family for allegedly trying to kill is own wife after shaving her hair and parading her in the village for not bringing enough dowry after marriage. After finding out that Pratima Sah of gedahiguthi, VDC Ward No. 3 was subjected to violence by her husband and his family Women Security Pressure Group Rautahat took the initiative to lodge complaint against the incident in area police office Garuda. Pratima Sah had married Ram Bishwas Sah, the son of Dukha Sah, a resident of Mithuawa vdc-7 in April 2014 according to social tradition. On February 7 pratima's husband and her in-laws forcibly shaved her hair and paraded her through the village after failing to bring the additional one lakh and fifty thousand rupees they had demanded in dowry. They also reportedly tried to kill her by strangling. President of the Women Security Pressure Group said that they have registered a case of public crime against all the accused in the police for their inhumanely treatment of Pratima.
