District Police Office of Nuwakot has reportedly refused to register a case of murder against 26-year-old Ramesh Pariyar and three others filed by the maternal side of Ramesh's deceased wife Ranjana Pariyar. Although the police claimed that Ranjana had committed suicide on March 5th, her brother Ramesh Darji said that from the inspection of the body it didn't look like she had committed suicide, and therefore had decided to file a charge sheet against her suspected husband. The complaint was lodged at the District Administration Office after police refused to register it. Investigation officer Birendra Thapa said that since the post morterm report revealed that Ranjana had committed suicide and her funeral rites had already been performed they could not register FIR. Police had kept Ramesh Pariyar and his second wife in custody after arresting them on March 10.
