MAR 18 - The District Court in Ramechhap has sentenced three people convicted of gang-raping a 28-year-old woman to ten years in prison and asked them to pay Rs 25,000 each to the victim. A single bench of Judge Umesh Prasad Luitel gave the verdict against Pradip Bhujel of Sunarpani, Yaku Shrestha of Sukajor and Govinda Bhujel of Bhatauli on Wednesday. Bhujel, before committing the crime, had reportedly called the woman on her mobile phone saying that he is willing to marry her and wants to meet her in a nearby field.
