A man who allegedly sustained severe injuries while trying to rape a woman died during treatment in the district on Saturday. The accused, 42-year-old Tika Bahadur Sarki of Diyale-9, was reportedly thrashed by the woman with a bamboo plank on Monday. Locals said they had informed police after hearing the woman cry for help and then reached her house. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Dambar BK, they took the woman into custody and are investigating into the matter. The woman, whose husband is a migrant worker in Malaysia, thrashed Sarki as he reportedly attempted to rape her. According to her neighbours, Sarki had sustained severe injuries by the time they reached the incident site. Meanwhile, rubbishing the allegations, Sarki’s family claimed that he was framed. BK said they will conduct an autopsy to find details on the matter.
