The Lamjung District Court sentenced a 55-year-old man to 15 years in jail on the charges of rape. A single bench of Judge Jagat Narayan Pradhan gave the verdict against Bir Bahadur Sarki of Sundarabazaar-5 on Tuesday. Sarki was convicted of raping a 14-year-old differently-abled and mentally challenged girl around two months ago. The court fined the convict with Rs100,000. Court Registrar Hari Gopal Gyawali said Sarki was sentenced to 10 years on the charges of rape and five more years for raping a differently-abled minor. Sarki lured the victim to his house and committed the crime on January 15. Police arrested him the next day as per a complaint lodged by the victim's family.
