Expressing solidarity with Dr. Govinda KC, Nepal Medical Association (NMA), an umbrella organization of doctors, on Saturday issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the government. An emergency NMA meeting on Saturday decided to operate its Out Patient Department (OPD) service in the hospital premises with black armbands from Monday if Dr. KC's demands are not met within 24 hours. "All government and private hospitals, medical colleges, nursing homes, and clinics will operate OPD service in its premises with doctors wearing black arms bands from Monday if the government fails to address KC's demands," a press statement by NMA reads.
