District Police Office of Pyuthan arrested 35-year-old Gir Bahadur Gharti of Swargadwari in Khal VDC-9 on April 8 on the charges of raping an 11-year-old girl. The victim's family lodged a complaint at DPO on April 8 accusing Gharti of raping the girl on March 23 near the road at Khal VDC-9. DSP Tul Bahadur Karki of DPO said that the police received the information late, however, the accused was taken into custody for further investigation. The victim underwent a health checkup at the District Hospital of Bijuwar on April 8.
