Three people have been arrested on the charge of gang-raping a 15-year-old girl at Jamuni in Bardiya district. Deputy Superintendent of Police Dipak Kumar Basnet said Ramesh Gurung, 24, Hari Bahadur Sunar, 30, and Top Bahadur Shahi, 28, of Jamuni-8 were held on the rape charge. Another suspect Chhetra Bahadur Rai, 30, is on the run. Area Police Office in Mainapokhara said the three men were arrested based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s relatives on Wednesday. The arrested have been remanded in custody for further investigation. The victim said that the suspects called her to farmland near her house on Monday evening and committed the crime. Police officials investigating into the case said the girl is mentally disturbed after the incident. Likewise, a 29-year-old man has been arrested from Hansapur-8 in Pyuthan district on the charge of raping his 12-year-old daughter. The victim is receiving treatment at the district hospital. Police said they are investigating into the matter. The girl was staying with her father and grandmother after her mother eloped a few years ago. The policeman held on rape charge DOTI: A police constable at Ghanteshwor Police Pose allegedly raped a 13-year-old girl. Constable Kaman Singh Bohara was taken into custody on Thursday after the girl’s family filed a complaint against him, Deputy Superintendent of Police Dambar Chand said. The victim said Bohara took her under control and committed the crime while she was returning home from her relatives’ house two weeks ago. The family came to know about the incident as a medical test showed that she was pregnant.
