VDC Secretary of Gankhu VDC in Gorkha district was beaten by the locals of ward 5 in Gankhu only a few hours after the 6.8 magnitude earthquake on April 12. VDC Secretary Achala Acharya was beaten right in the presence of security personnel by an angry mob of villagers who also hit her with sandals. She lodged a complaint against the attackers to the police. According to her, the villagers attacked her saying that she had failed to distribute the expected amount of relief materials to the villagers.
