Taplejung: 19 May, locals, survivors of the fire some months back, picketed the meeting hall of the District Development Committee (DDC) while two Constituent Assembly (CA) members from the district were attending the meeting. The locals were demanding that permission to reconstruct their houses as per the Taplejung Municipality standards are granted. The municipality has rejected the submitted plans for houses as the given area falls not under the municipality regulations but under the Mechi Highway.
