Rapist gets 16 years in Jhapa

District Court, Jhapa, on Wednesday sentenced a person to 16 years’ jail term and rupees three lakh compensation for his involvement raping a girl. District judge Dipak Khanal sentenced Shyam Shrestha, 42, of Mechinagar Municipality for the crime. Police arrested Shrestha on April 11 after the relatives of the victim filed a case against him.
