Woman burnt alive in Baglung

 In yet another ghastly incident of violence against women, a woman in Baglung district has sustained serious burn injuries after she was allegedly set on fire on Saturday. The injured is Nanu Thapa of Baglung-1. Thapa, who was set ablaze at her own house, has been taken to the Pokhara-based Manipal Hospital after initial treatment at the Dhaulagiri Hospital. Thapa’s relative Silsila KC informed that are planning to airlift Thapa through a chopper to Kathmandu for further treatment. Doctors attending the injured said she has sustained burn injuries in over 90 percent of the body. Tenants had rescued Thapa after she yelled for help at around 11 pm last night. Relatives claim her husband Santosh burnt her alive.
