Two innocent civilians were seriously injured after being severely beaten by the police in Dolpa district. On Friday, June 4, 47-year-old Juddha Bahadur Rokaya of Thala in Dunai VDC was mercilessly beaten by a team of policemen in Thange of Sahartara VDC over a dispute between locals of Thala and Sahartar VDC. Juddha Bahadur lost four teeth due to the attack. Similarly, 18-year-old Raj Kumar Rokaya of the same place was also beaten continuously on the way by the policemen while he was being taken to the district police office in Dunai. Both of the victims were handed over to their families after being detained in the district police office in Dunai. They are undergoing treatment in the district hospital. Locals have grouped up in protest of the unwarranted and brutal attack on innocent civilians. Disturbing incidents of security forces beating innocent civilians have been reported many times in the past in Dolpa.
