Metropolitan Traffic Police takes action against ASI for harassing a woman

2014-11-18

Bagmati, Kathmandu, Kathmandu, Ward 28

Metropolitan Traffic Police Kathmandu has decided to take action against one of its ASI who was charged with asking for a kiss as a bribe. As a punishment for the indecent act, the traffic police have decided to check the promotion of Purushottam Dhakal, the traffic-man accused in the incident by three grades. On November 18, 2014, Purushottam had asked for a kiss from a young lady during DUI checking in Dilli Bazar. He had sought to take action against her for not renewing the bill-book of her vehicle. As a bargain for not taking any action against her, he had asked her for a kiss. When the lady refused to give in to his demand he had forced her to give him a ride in her scooter and had sexually assaulted her during the process. The welcome news of punishment to the guilty traffic-man comes after a long investigation of 7-months. The investigation also revealed that the accused had been stalking the young lady over the phone for a long time even after the incident was over.
