The district court of Khotang has sentenced two men to 12 years in prison each on the charge of raping a married woman. The district court slapped the sentence to 40-year-old Dilli Sher Rai and 30-year-old Rajan Rai from Sangdel-3 VDC who was arrested for raping a 25-year-old local woman. On December 28, 2014, at around 11:00 pm at night the two men had raped the victim who was alone at her home at the time by forcibly taking her to a field near her house. Police had arrested them on the basis of the victim's complaint. The two confessed that they had committed the crime under the influence of Alcohol, said sub-inspector Yadav Gautam. The court has also decided to fine the two culprits rupees fifty thousand each to compensate the victim.
