Dev Raj Pokharel, an account officer at the Urban Development and Building Division Office in Rolpa, was arrested while receiving bribe from service seekers. A team of officials from the Mid-Western regional office of the Commission for Investigation of Authority held Pokharel while he was receiving Rs 146,000 from members of a Consumer Committee formed to build a retention wall of the District Forest Office and a road to Sworgadwari. Likewise, the CIAA team also found Rs 400,000 in Pokharel’s drawer but he could not verify the valid source of the amount. CIAA spokesperson Krishna Hari Puskar the account officer has been taken into custody and further investigation has been initiated.
