2015-07-22

Madhes, Parsa, Birgunj

Cadres of Madhes-centric parties have burnt some copies of Nagarik, Kantipur and Annapurna Post daily newspapers accusing them of writing in favour of preliminary draft of the new constitution. "These daily broadsheets have published misleading news that there is an overwhelming turnout for feedback across the country sideling views of Madhes-centric parties," said Parsa District Chairman Pradip Yadav, adding, "That is why we have burned the copies of these daily broad-sheets." Shouting slogans, "We don't need such biased media," the cadres and leaders of the Madhes-centric parties have burnt the copies of these daily newspapers at Ghantaghar Chowk in Birgunj today. They have also warned that they will not allow selling even a single copy in the entire Tarai region unless they stop writing in favour of the preliminary draft and serving toward promulgating the new constitution based on this draft. They have vented ire accusing these newspapers of giving no space for their dissenting views and disseminating misleading views which, according to them, is against the Madhesh.
