2015-07-29

Bagmati, Kathmandu, Kathmandu

National Human Rights Protection Forum for Disable Nepal (NHRPFDN) on Tuesday staged a protest in the capital, demanding that authorities make roads and footpaths disabled friendly. Persons with disability took to the streets to raise their issues and concerns, saying government authorities have failed to make adequate efforts to fix the dilapidated roads and pavements in the capital. According to the NHRPFDN, persons with disabilities have been affected the most by the inaction of the government and other stakeholders. A delegate of NHRPFDN led by its general secretary Ramesh Babu Tiwari also submitted a memorandum to Rudra Singh Tamang, Chief Executive Officer of Kathmandu Metropolitan City on Tuesday.
