Scores of people are feared dead as landslides hit different places in Kaski district of western Nepal. At least 16 bodies were recovered in Lumle VDC alone and 28 people are said to be missing on Thursday morning as many houses were hit by massive landslides there, according to DSP Gyan Prasad AAcharyaof District Police Office. Security forces have been deployed to the affected areas including Lumle, Chapakot, and Bhadaure for the rescue operations. A chopper has been used for the purpose.

Update..... The death toll from landslides and flooding caused by torrential Monsoon rains in various VDCs of Kaski district has climbed to 30.
