A woman with a speech impairment has been gang-raped in the Dolakha district. Police rescued the woman, in her thirties, in a critical condition from a forest in the Bhaise area on Friday. A knife and a torchlight, believed to be that of perpetrators, were also found at the site along with the woman’s bag containing her clothes and other belongings. According to what she communicated to us using sign language, Durga KC of Nepal Police Women and Child Service Centre said the woman had been raped by men who wore glasses. Kc said they could not establish the woman’s identity and her address. The woman has been admitted to the hospital for treatment as she has suffered serious injuries in her uterus. Chairperson of Women Rights Network Srijana Karki said they were making efforts to identify the woman and find her family.
