Locals have staged a sit-in in front of Area Police Office Huwas in Parbat on Saturday against the police's beating of Kabita Tiwari. Kabita Tiwari went to the police office on Friday to release her brother Mahendra Tiwari who was arrested by the police on the basis of domestic violence complaint filed by his wife. Kabita was beaten by inspector Om Prakash Chaudhary. She fell unconscious after being hit by lathi by the police inspector. Protesting the brutality of male police against a woman locals have staged protest in front of the police office. Meanwhile in charge of Area Police Office Huwas, Om Prakash Chaudhary claimed that he had not intentionally beaten the victim Kabita Tiwari. He said that Kabita was accidentally hit with the lathi while police were trying to intervene in a scuffle between Mahendra's wife and mother. Women's right activist are still protesting the incident before the police station.
